Orchid Pictures is set to produce two new series for Netflix. Filming has commenced in Manchester on Danny Brocklehurst’s adaptation of Roald Dahl’s adult short stories for a six part series which Runyararo Mapfumo and Ben Gregor will direct.

Scheduled to shoot in 2027 in Northern Ireland is JIG, a new comedy from Derry Girls creator Lisa McGee. The six part series, set in the high-stakes world of competitive Irish dancing, follows best friends Cara and Fletcher from the struggling Sweeney School of Dance in Derry as they take on their sworn rivals from Florida, a slick, sponsored, seemingly unbeatable operation. We’ll follow both teams as they journey towards the all important World Championships. But who will lift that trophy?
